Ricardo Garcia is a truly eclectic guitarist - his roots lie in Flamenco, but in recent years he has explored Jazz, African music, collaborated with a sitar and tabla player Jordanian and Cambodian musicians and with Scottish traditional musicians. For 14 years he has brought a show to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe: conceived, composed and produced as an original work for the Fringe. Many of these shows have also been performed in Canada and the US: Montreal, Ottawa, San Francisco, Orlando, Toronto and Vancouver to sell out audiences and five star reviews. Flamenco con Fusion won the "Audience Choice Award" in Vancouver International Fringe Festival, September 2007. Since then Ricardo has taken shows to Ethiopia, Kenya, Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, to Cape Town, Cambodia and Ecuador. He has worked with children (in the Bronx and New Jersey as well as childern and remote communities in Kenya, Ecuador and Cambodia - as well as for the Spanish Embassies in Kenya and Ethiopia. In 2012 Ricardo played for MTV India following his successful collaboration for the music of the Bollywood movie Tashan.
Later this year, 2015 he will take part in the Yokohama Jazz Festival with Yuichiro Tokuda in Japan.
This is an authentic Flamenco from traditional to modern, moving towards a fusion of elements from its own background (Indian, Arabic, African, South American, Caribbean ) with modern influences such as Jazz, Latin Jazz Bossa Nova, Salsa and others.
